About the Readers

Carol Guess is the author of numerous books of poetry and prose, including Sleep Tight Satellite (Tupelo Press) and Infodemic (forthcoming from Black Lawrence Press). She is a Professor of English at Western Washington University, where she teaches Queer Literature and Creative Writing.

Wendy J. Fox is the author of four books of fiction, including the novel If the Ice Had Held, a LitHub best pick in audio, and the recent short-story collection What If We Were Somewhere Else, which won the Colorado Book Awards for literary fiction. She has written for national publications like The Rumpus, Catapult, BuzzFeed, Self, and Business Insider, and Ms., and her work has appeared in literary magazines including Washington Square, Euphony, and Painted Bride Quarterly. Hillary Leftwich is the author of two books, Ghosts Are Just Strangers Who Know How to Knock (Agape Editions, 2023, new edition) and Aura (Future Tense Books and Blackstone Audio Publishing, 2022). She owns Alchemy Author Services and Writing Workshop and teaches writing at several universities and colleges along with Lighthouse Writers, a local nonprofit for adults and youth. On the outskirts of the writing world, she is also a professional Tarot and bones reader. She lives in Denver.

Jay Halsey’s poems and prose have been published in several online and print journals and nominated for Pushcart and Best of the Net. His photography has been used as cover art for poetry collections and novels, featured in fundraising campaigns for the Rocky Mountain Land Library in Fairplay, Colorado, and was part of a touring exhibit featured at libraries and bookstores throughout France to represent Editions Gallmeister’s American authors. The second edition of his photography and multi-form writing collection Barely Half in an Awkward Line is out now from Agape Editions. He was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio and has lived on the Colorado Front Range for the past 16 years.

Jason Masino received his BA in Dramatic Art from UC Davis and his MFA in Poetry from Regis University. His poetry has been nominated for Best of the Net and the Pushcart Prize and has been published in Cultural Daily, Inverted Syntax, South Florida Poetry Journal, Obsidian: Literature & Arts in the African Diaspora, and many others. His debut book of poetry—Sinner's Prayer—was released in 2022 (Passengers Press).
